Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about Reviu. Can't find yours? Reach out from the About page.

Q. Is Reviu free?

Yes. Core review generation is free and doesn't require an account. Any future add-ons will keep the base generator free.

Q. Do you store my photos?

Photos are sent to the AI briefly to generate the review, then discarded. Nothing is saved on our servers. Generated reviews and thumbnails live only in your browser's local storage — clear it and the history is gone.

Q. Do I need an account?

No. Reviu doesn't collect personal information and never asks you to sign in. Everything runs in your browser.

Q. Which platforms are supported?

You can pick Amazon, Instagram, YouTube, Naver, Coupang, Baemin, or a general tone. Each tone matches the culture and length that platform expects.

Q. How long are the reviews?

Choose short (~50–80 words), medium (~150–220 words), or long (~300–450 words). Pick short for quick shopping notes, long for blog posts.

Q. The camera button doesn't work.

Your browser is probably blocking camera access. Open the lock icon next to the URL and set Camera to Allow, then refresh. On iOS Safari, tap the 'AA' button and open Website Settings. You can also just tap 'Choose from gallery' to skip the camera entirely.

Q. Can I regenerate a review?

Yes — tap 'Rewrite' to get a fresh version with the same photo and settings. Change the rating, tone, or keywords for more variety.

Q. Should I edit the AI draft?

Yes — treat it as a strong first draft. One or two lines from your actual experience make the review feel genuinely yours.

Q. Which AI powers Reviu?

Google's multimodal Gemini, accessed through the Lovable AI Gateway.

Q. Do you add hashtags for Instagram?

Yes. Pick the Instagram tone and the AI includes 3–5 relevant hashtags automatically.

Q. How much history is kept?

The most recent 20 reviews stay in your browser. Older entries are trimmed automatically. Copy anything you want to keep for longer into a notes app.

Q. Does it work on mobile?

Yes — Reviu is designed mobile-first. Camera capture and gallery picking both work in mobile browsers, no app needed.

Q. Where do I paste the finished review?

Tap Copy on the result, then paste into any review field: Amazon, Instagram, your blog, a forum — wherever you post.

Q. Can the AI identify the product?

It infers the product from visible text, logos, and packaging, but it isn't perfect. Double-check the product name in the draft before posting.

Q. Do dark or blurry photos work?

Sharp, well-lit photos give the sharpest results. Blurry or very dark shots make the analysis less accurate — reshoot when you can.

Q. Can I upload multiple photos?

Only one photo per generation right now. Pick the most representative shot, or run multiple generations and combine the wording.

Q. Can I customize the tone?

You currently pick from preset tones. Custom tones are on the roadmap — send feedback if there's one you want.

Q. What if I don't like the output?

Tap Rewrite to try again with the same settings, or tweak the rating, tone, or keywords for a different angle.

Q. Do keywords actually appear in the review?

Yes. Anything you put in the 'keywords' field is woven into the copy naturally. Three to five keywords tends to work best.

Q. What if the review exceeds a platform's length limit?

Most platforms accept 1,000+ characters. If yours is stricter, generate a Short version or trim to the strongest sentences.

Q. Could my photo expose personal info?

Photos are processed briefly and not stored, but if a shot shows an address or phone number, mask it before uploading.

Q. Is there a mobile app?

Not yet — we focus on the web so there's nothing to install. A native app is on the table if enough people ask.

Q. How do I archive reviews long-term?

Reviu keeps only the last 20 in your browser. Copy anything important into a notes app or cloud doc.

Q. Is Reviu tuned to specific categories?

It works across categories — food, beauty, electronics, home goods. The AI adapts to whatever it sees in the photo.

Q. What if my connection is slow?

Upload needs internet, and generation runs on our servers, so keep the tab open until you see the result. Typical generation takes 3–10 seconds.

Q. Who owns the generated reviews?

You do. Reviu makes no claim on the text — edit and post freely.

Q. How does Reviu make money?

Ads (AdSense) keep the service free. You aren't charged; ad revenue covers servers and AI usage.

Q. Something went wrong — how do I fix it?

Camera errors are usually a permission issue. Upload errors are usually the file being too large (>10MB) or a strange format — stick to JPG or PNG. Still broken? Clear the browser cache or try in a private window.

Q. Can I write in a language other than English?

Yes — English and Korean are supported today. Use the language toggle in the top bar.

Q. When does photo analysis fail?

Photos of pure text, low-resolution scans, or abstract art can confuse the model. A straight-on product shot works best.

Q. Who made Reviu?

Reviu started as a small project to make honest product reviews easier for anyone to write — using AI as an assistant, not a replacement.
